Ontario Residents Uncover The Wonders Of Western Canada Onboard The Rocky Mountaineer Train

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (March 17, 2008) -Long flights, jet lag and packed itineraries can sometimes add to the frustration of travelling abroad. So why not spend your holidays a little closer to home this year and discover the wonders of Western Canada with an awe-inspiring rail journey. From now until May 17, 2008, Rocky Mountaineer Vacations is offering Ontario residents a $400 WestJet air travel certificate per couple when they book a Rocky Mountaineer GoldLeaf Service vacation that is three nights or more during the 2008 operating season. The Rocky Mountaineer train travels on three spectacular routes between British Columbia and Alberta with one of the highlights being the magnificent Canadian Rocky Mountains.

"We are delighted to give Ontario residents an incentive to experience the beauty of the West," says Randy Powell, President of Rocky Mountaineer Vacations. "More and more Canadians are discovering vacation destinations in their own country and there is truly no better way to see Western Canada’s stunning scenery than onboard the Rocky Mountaineer train.”

The two-day, all daylight Rocky Mountaineer rail journey takes guests between the cosmopolitan destinations of Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia to the Rocky Mountain towns of Jasper and Banff or Calgary, Alberta. The train journey offers a front row view of Western Canada’s spectacular scenery, including the ferocious Fraser River, the Spiral Tunnels and the majestic Rocky Mountains. On the train, guests are given personalized service by friendly Onboard Attendants. Canadians will be particularly fascinated by the onboard commentary which speaks about the history of the railways and how the tracks united our vast country more than 120 years ago. The memories made onboard the train tops off this experience of a lifetime.

The ultimate way to experience a rail journey through Western Canada is in Rocky Mountaineer GoldLeaf Service, where guests travel in style onboard two-storey dome coaches. On the upper level, travellers enjoy comfortable, assigned seating and panoramic views of the spectacular scenery. A spiral staircase descends on to the dining car below where freshly prepared à la carte Western Canadian cuisine is served, accompanied by award winning wines from British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley.

To take advantage of the Exclusive Ontario Residents Offer, travellers must book a minimum three-night Rocky Mountaineer GoldLeaf Service package by May 17, 2008 for travel during the 2008 season from mid-April to mid-October. The WestJet air travel certificate must be redeemed by the guest directly with the airline and is valid for a travel period of one year. It is not available in conjunction with any other promotion. Further restrictions may apply.
